Denmark is the smallest Scandinavian country in northern Europe, the most south of the Nordic countries. It shares borders with German to the south, Sweden to the southwest, and Norway to the south. It also has shores on the Baltic and the North Sea.
Denmark consists of the large Jutland peninsula and many islands, some of them connected by bridges, including Zealand and Funen and many minor islands. The country is flat with little elevation, with some hills near Arhus with areas of inland water. Denmark has a population of around 5.4 million.
